Renault Twingo E-Tech Electric: Exterior
The name Twingo immediately starts the mental cinema and Renault has accordingly commendably oriented itself on the old icon. Even at first glance, you can see the typical round headlights, which include both the normal light and the high beam. The boxy look has been retained, but with cleaner lines and modern technology, the Twingo has made the leap into the future.

Further homages to the predecessor can be found on the narrow grille or the air intakes on the hood. In terms of dimensions, the Twingo grows compared to the old small car, but with a length of 3,789 mm, a width of 1,720 mm and a height of 1,491 mm, the Frenchman is still an agile city runabout.

The innovation in the side view is of course the rear doors, but the Twingo still retains its character as a round "hickey". The increased dimensions also ensure that the Twingo can now stand on 18-inch wheels.

The rear is also based on its predecessor, so not only is the model lettering in the iconic "Twingo lettering", but the playful lines are also unmistakable. The round light design can now also be found at the rear of the new Twingo.
For individualization, there are three new paint finishes for the Twingo (Absolute Red, Absolute Green, Mango Yellow), among other things, so that you definitely stand out in traffic. Paula Fabregat-Andreu, Design Project Director for the Twingo, says: "Our main goal in designing the modern Twingo was to recapture the bold spirit of the first generation." The new Twingo is intended to be a true travel companion and more than just a car.
Renault Twingo E-Tech Electric – Drive and battery
For the new edition of the Twingo, Renault has used the basis of the Renault 5 and 4, which also started as retro new editions under power. Under the hood of the Twingo E-Tech is an 82 hp engine with 175 Nm of torque. This is powered by a 27.5 kWh battery made of lithium iron phosphate, so that a range of approx. 260 km should be possible. Top speed is 130 km/h and the Twingo is supposed to reach 0 to 100 km/h in 12.1 seconds.

The charging power of the new Twingo is up to 50 kW, which allows it to charge from 10 to 80% in exactly 30 minutes. The electric small car also supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and thus offers bidirectional charging. It can not only charge other electrical appliances, but also feed electricity into the power grid. From the Techno equipment line, the new Twingo also offers One-Pedal Drive as standard, so that you can brake and accelerate with just one pedal.
Renault Twingo E-Tech Electric: Interior
The interior of the new Twingo also exudes fun and colour. For example, the "Twingo lettering" can also be found on the dashboard and the open design of the center console provides a more airy feeling in the small car.

At the heart of the interior are two screens: a 7-inch digital instrument display and the central 10-inch touchscreen for the infotainment. Both come with a new interface with playful animations and graphics that have been developed exclusively for the Twingo.

Despite the small dimensions, the interior of the Twingo is not as cramped as you would think. Of course, this is also ensured by the 2+2 seat configuration, which gives the passengers in the rear more shoulder room and legroom. The rear seats can be moved like the first Twingo, so you can slide the seats forward or backward by 17 cm to create extra space, whether for luggage or seating comfort.

This means that the Twingo also offers a trunk that is larger than expected at 360 liters and can even be expanded to over 1,000 liters with the rear seat folded down. The small electric car also makes clever use of its space, not only with the double floor in the trunk, which can easily accommodate the charging cables, but also with numerous smaller storage areas in the cabin. This can also be expanded with additional accessories with YouClip anchor points, so you can design the interior according to your own needs.

The infotainment is based on Google and thus already has Google Maps with e-car route planner, the Google Assistant and the Google Play Store for other apps on board. In addition, the Twingo also comes with Renault's new digital avatar: Reno, the virtual co-pilot that supports you during the journey. By the way, security is also taken care of. Up to 24 different assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, intersection warning and many other systems make driving a pleasant and safe affair.
Renault Twingo E-Tech Electric: sales launch and price
At launch, the new Twingo will be offered in two trim levels: Evolution and Techno. The basic "Evolution" equipment already offers the two screens in the cockpit, cruise control, air conditioning and other functions. From the Techno trim level, there is then the full package of Google operating system for infotainment, the Reno avatar, one-pedal driving and other comfort functions.
